What is COVID-19?
COVID-19 is an infectious disease caused by a coronavirus called SARS-CoV-2. It was first discovered in Wuhan in December 2019.
Symptoms:
- Fever or chills
- Cough
- Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
- Fatigue
- Muscle or body aches
- Headache
- Loss of taste or smell
- Sore throat
- Congestion or runny nose
- Nausea or vomiting
- Diarrhea
Severe Symptoms:
- Shortness of breath
- Loss of appetite
- Confusion
- Persistent pain or pressure in the chest
- High temperature (above 38 °C)
- Inability to wake or stay awake
Treatment:
- Contact a health-care worker or a COVID-19 hotline to find out where and when to get a test.
- If testing is not available, stay home and away from others for 14 days.
- Wear a medical mask to protect others, including if/when you need to seek medical care.
- Stay in a separate room from other family members, and if not possible, wear a medical mask and maintain a 1 meter distance from them.
- Keep the room well-ventilated.
- Monitor yourself for any symptoms for 14 days.
